Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez (born Rosa Maria Perez on the 6th of September 1964) is an American actress as well as choreographer, dancer and activist. Her breakout moment came with Tina's character in Do the Right Thing (1989), followed closely by White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez's performance as Tina , in Fearless (1993), earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Perez's main roles in films include It Could Happen to You (1994), The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007) as well as Birds of Prey (2018). Perez also earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990-1994) as well as another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her performance as the Flight Attendant. She also has appeared in Broadway playslike The Ritz and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune and Fish in the Dark. She was also the co-host of The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She attended Grover Cleveland High School in Ridgewood. In 1999 her mother was in poverty, in the Woodside Houses, when she passed away due to AIDS-related issues.
